Text 10 May Little Bird

Little Bird, I saw you perched upon a tree today
Sitting Peacefully among the branches
You sat still and gazed below, watching the chaotic world rush below your wings
You did not sing (for us)
You did not fly (from us)
You just watched and watched until the sun died
Curiosity behind those precious eyes.

Little bird, I was laying in bed as the rest of the world slept
When I heard your melody, providing the medication to put my wounds at ease
And so fear flew in the window early morning next day
Whispered in my ear how the wind would one day take you away

Little bird, let me keep you safe from harm
The tree you sleep on will one day fall
But this home I made you will stand strong
From the day spring wakes to the day when summers trees bleed their color away
I’ll keep a fire burning fierce and wild
When winters hands wrap around our world
I promise, to keep you warm

But little bird, all I ask from you is one thing.
Sing your melody to bury these worries of mine six feet deep
